] Calypso A brilliant endeavor Delicate stilts carried the brute across his own claimed earth, twin harks picking up the welcome sounds of life as he steadily explored his rightful world. Each intake of life giving air brought new scents and curiosities, that he was sure he would discover later. Everything was new to him, and his slim carcass twitched in anticipation for all that was. Spring was just beginning to take its hold, the last of winter clinging to the trees and earth, and he felt refreshed. For just a moment, he forgot himself and dipped his carved dial in pure jubilation as a young colt might, kicking up his hind daggers and omitting a rather childish squeal. No one heard him save a lone squirrel, who watched him warily from the treetops. His orbs were bright, but he regained his composure and merely snorted his delight before moving on to find a place to oversee his new world.
His every thought was for the future and all it held. He could sense his time had come, and even now, without a fem in his sight, he felt the need to call out for anyone who might have their audits pricked in his direction. He allowed his vocals to produce a cry, his body tense, every muscle ready to be rewarded with a response, some sort of confirmation that he was in fact, on top of the world. An eagle cried over his head and he watched it soar lazily above him, its yellow orbs blinking at him as if to say 'yes, I'll humor you.' until it flew off to some unknown but seemingly very important destination. A contented sigh left him and he lowered his head to nibble at the beginnings of spring, waiting for his world to change.

The wind carried softly over the lands which Ghazel had just begun to call home. In the time since her arrival, the black femme had come across only others that shared the same blood as her; while she found this strange, it did please her. During the weeks that Ghazel wandered from her homeland to stumble upon this land, she had been devoting much thought to the possibility of having to join a herd that was of mixed horses.
Carried on the wind that blew so softly on this winter day was a new cry, the cry of another stallion, one Ghazel had not yet met. Following the aerial signals, the soft black mare cantered slowly towards the unexplored regions of this land. Dished head was held up high in the wind, locks of black mane tangling behind her muscular arched neck as she playfully bounded across the frozen turf, kicking her heels up every few steps, sending slushy snow up into the air. A little off in the distance Ghazel spotted a large belt of seemingly impenetrable trees, she slowed down a little to a trot and explored the edge of the trees. Their branches were heavy with snow and haw frost, but had not lost their leaves like a great many of the other trees around here. Scanning the ground around her feet, Ghazel spied faint tracks in the frosty grass leading through a small path in the forest. Ghazel knew better than to follow the scent of strange stallions into a possibly dark, dangerous situation... but she had come all this way.
Making her way slowly down the narrow forest path, Ghazel was surprised to see what lay at the end of it; inside the forest glade lay a vast expanse of grasslands and even a stream. There were a few strange rocky formations and some gnarled trees stripped of their summer attire. What caught the black femme's attention most of all was the chestnut horse grazing quietly on his own. He had a lithe build and beautifully arched neck, paired with a dished facade and a high arched tail. There was no mistaking it, she had stumbled upon yet another of her desert kind in this cold, wintery land. Cautiously making her way down the slight slope, Ghazel whinnied softly at the stallion, her black ears pricked forward to catch his reply. The almost black orbs of Ghazel watched the frozen ground that lay down before her as she carefully placed each black hoof down, not daring to let herself slip onto her knees in such a situation.

Calypso A brilliant Endeavor The fulfilling grasses were at their best, being the new greens of a new spring. The rich taste caused the brute to foam a little at the mouth, which he continuously shook away, not wanting to have to have such a bothersome experience. His twin harks picked up the faint steps of an oncoming inquirer and he lifted his finely shaped dial to take in the dark fem who now stood before him. She greeted him with a whinny, which instantly made him at ease. It helped that he could see a bit of gentleness in her gazing orbs, weather misleading or not, he was usually right in his assumptions, however.
The stallion was a firm believer in everything proper, and he dipped his dial low and showed the fem his respect. As a ruler, he found himself wishing to please his fems more than himself, although he wasn't much of a king. Yet, anyway. "I was hoping that I would happen across someone. I am Calypso. My purpose is yet to be named, although I do have claim to these lands, and you are?" He kept his dial low while he spoke, showing her the respect that had been born into him and passed down from his father, and like any strong family line, his father before that. However, when he had finished addressing her, he raised his dial, giving himself the sense of pride that also flowed deep through his veins. It felt so good to be able to speak to someone, even if it were just in passing. It had been awhile since the brute had had any company, and he enjoyed her presence even then, in the simple introduction.

At night when I close my eyes, theres a vision of you inside my head and I don't have to think twice, about the times you said you loved me I've got you in my life, theres a part of you in everything I do I think about you all the time I was born to love you
Respect. That was something that Ghazel took much pride in, she had been raised as a royal and since the day of her birth it had been embedded in her mind that the only way to treat someone was with respect, regardless of their attitude towards you. It pleased the dark femme that this stallion seemed to share at least the most basic of manners with her, not to say anyone she had met so far here had proved otherwise, but rumors had flown thick and fast about the savagery of the mixed bloods from where Ghazel was from. Delicate legs carried Ghazel closer to the stallion and off the icy slope, she paused a few metres away from him, all four legs standing square beneath her.
When your next to me... I'm in ecstasy... Your my destiny... Your love gets to me...
Ghazel watched the chestnut stallion as he spoke, he kept his head lowered, locks of chestnut mane falling over his dished face as he did so. The steed introduced himself as Calypso before raising his proud head again. As he finished introducing himself, the coal stained mare dipped her head in a greeting to the stallion, her eyes half closing as she replied to him ”Greeting Calypso, I am Ghazel. My purpose is much the same as yours, I have been wandering, meeting the other horses of this land”. Ghazel raised her head slowly, eyes meeting with the stallions. ”May I ask, what brings you to this land Calypso?”. Ghazel was curious, not so much of what bought everyone here, the fact it was a nice land would account for that, but what was bringing all these majestic horses of the desert this way. Was some higher force at work, drawing them all near for some higher purpose?
When your next to me, I feel like I'm in Heaven I'n in ectasy, twenty-four seven Your my destiny, we're meant to be together Your love gets to me, I want you here forever

Calypso a brilliant Endeavor Calypso watched her bring herself slowly near, and found himself musing about her beauty. His thoughts instantly seemed to interrupt him, however, and remind him that not only was in not proper to stare, but he had just met this fem and knew nothing about her. It was wrong of him to attempt attachment or even the thought of attachment so quickly. "Ghazel, that name fits you." He offered her a friendly glance, as any equid can not 'smile', if one might call it that, but his expression was one of earnest.
As for his purpose in the lands he now stood upon, he had to allow himself to ponder a moment. It was a deep question, if she realized it or not, and he wasn't sure himself, other than the known fact that he was destined for greatness. His father had spoken this over him since the day he was born, and he believed it with all his heart. "I was born to a great Lord, a brute with a good heart and a great sense of himself. He brought me up under his wing, unusual I realize, and I became the brute I am today." He paused a moment, knowing he hadn't truly answered her question even a little bit, and gathered again his thoughts. "These lands called to my heart. Does that make sense?" The way she watched him as he spoke would have made him blush if he could. He didn't know why, he had always been able to hold himself regally and ignore any improper reactions to life, but she seemed to have caught him off guard. He wondered self consciously if she had noticed, and prayed she hadn't.

Ghazel tilted her dished head to the left as the stallion commented on her name, acknowledging the compliment, she had never been any good at accepting things like that. The name Ghazel meant "" in the tongue of their ancestors, and it certainly did fit. Thankfully for Ghazel, the chestnut stallion quickly changed the subject, she wasn't forced into trying to complement him back, not that it was difficult to find something to compliment him on, but she preferred to not be put into such an awkward situation.
When your next to me... I'm in ecstasy... Your my destiny... Your love gets to me...
The first thing Calypso said did not surprise the black mare, she could tell by the way he spoke, by the way he held himself that he was of higher breeding than others; there was something very noble about him. He came from a background similar to her own, Ghazel had been raised by the lord and lady of her homeland, her parents. Throughout her childhood Ghazel never experienced much hardship, and left the land of her own accord. Ghazel knew that she had a very stable upbringing, more stable than many of the other horses she had come across who had a troubled look in their eyes. "Called to your heart? That does make sense" Ghazel replied, she too had ventured here in a similar manner, though did not feel the need to expand on that. "Since I have arrived in these lands, I have met many of our kind, I find it strange that we should all be called to this place. In fact, I have not met a horse of any other breed here yet" Ghazel felt a little sheepish mentioning a personal thought like that to someone she had just met, but Calypso seemed dignified enough to not poke fun, and perhaps he too would question the matter.

Calypso A Brilliant Endeavor It was quite intriguing to him that she had all but read his mind, he felt there was a greater purpose for him here, and for others of his kind, than what was on the surface. He was glad she felt that she could trust him with this thought. To him he felt that unless those around him trusted him, any reign and rule he had over them would be all but lost. He felt that there was a chance that he would be able to fall easily into this destined role of his, and felt himself growing a little more confident in himself, not that he wasn't already. "I would be pleased to meet these other beasts, perhaps find out if they see things the way we do."
This caused the question to rise in his mind, how could he bring all of these rouge fems and even brutes to his presence? He supposed with the help of his new friend, but even then, who knew where they were or what they were like? There was a chance they would not be welcoming to the stranger who took claim of his land, although they really had no choice. He would work it out with words, not wrath, and find that hopefully he could win over hearts. "If you don't mind my asking, in your opinion, what do you think should be done?" He tilted his dial a little in question, his banner getting caught up in the breeze.

Pretty black mare bobbed her dished facade up and down enthusiastically as the stallion commented on wanting to meet the others she already had; from the impression she had gained from the three others, Ghazel thought they would be quite friendly and receptive to this stallion. "The others I met seemed friendly enough, two mares, Aisha and Siren and a stallion Ezgalt. They were in an unowned land, looking for friends it seems" Ghazel spoke in a positive manner, she had high hopes for making friends with and possibly forming a herd with some of the other Arabian inhabitants of this land. As a positive and friendly mare, Ghazel preferred not to associate with horses that had foul tempers and snapped out at others, but fortunately that did not seem to be an issue thus far.

"If you don't mind my asking, in your opinion, what do you think should be done?" Calypso asked, tilting his white face in an inquisitive manner. Ghazel dipped her head for a moment in thought, it was her opinion that going out and befriending others would suffice, but she had never really though of friendship from a stallion's point of view before. Ghazel pondered the query for a moment, as a stallion Calypso had a slight disadvantage in making friends, mares could feel anxious around him and stallions threatened by him. Ghazel did feel comfortable in his presence though, and was sure others would too. "I don't mind at all, I think going out and making friends is the best option, making allies for yourself and generally meetings the other inhabitants of this land" Ghazel replied, hoping her suggestion would be of some use. Making allies was probably one of the best things a stallion could do, becoming friends with the other land owners would prove to be useful and there were probably some young colts who wouldn’t mind the shelter of a nice herdland in exchange for their support.

Calypso A Brilliant Endeavor The great brute stood in thought, his orbs blinking, the only part of him that moved. While nobility ran deep in his veins, he felt the familiar yet distant need to establish himself in the lands, to make himself known and to ensure that he in fact, was the one who would bring order and peace in the future to all who resided there. He wished at once that he could simply speed up time and have everything in place, he hated this feeling of unknowing, felt that it was unfit for him, the true king whose future had been set before him by his father and his father's father. A soft sigh left him, mixed with a bit of a snort, but the sound was gentle and nonthreatening and he didn't pay it much mind. "Do you suppose there is a chance of finding these creatures you mentioned and bringing them here?" He inquired after a moment. He had been so lost in thought he had nearly forgotten she was there, but not for long. "I'll help you of course." He added quickly, allowing his manners to bleed through the desire to be commander. He gave her a slight nod, as if showing that he meant nothing by his first question. He didn't want her to feel that he was trying to bully her around when she hadn't shown any certain desire to follow his lead just yet.
