Some Lark It Hot
_________________________________________________________________
The brute felt a weight on his heart as he trod through the safer lands, audits flicking about him as he did so. He did not know what to make of the fem or her way with words, and realized his foolish words had hurt her. He had decided to follow her, even though she had left him with a cold shoulder, but had lost track of her and hoped that perhaps she had come here, or maybe someone might have seen her. As a lone stallion, he knew he had to be wary of his surroundings and try to avoid any conflict with others who might want to pick at him.
Not that he'd mind, really. He was a bit hungry for some excitement, and for a split moment wanting nothing more than to cause a scene. This was much overpowered by his overwhelming need to find this fem that had not only confused him but nearly turned his world upside down with simply a brief conversation. He felt no romantic tie to Dezperina, that wasn't it. It was more of the overwhelming desire to find some sort of cure for whatever was bothering her, if there was something bothering her at all. Something had spooked her there in the dark abyss, and he wished he knew what it had been.
He found a comfortable place to keep watch over himself and the land, just to be sure that no one with poor intentions attempted to sneak up on him, and dozed lightly. Even in such a light sleep, he dreamed. In his dreams he saw many things, a dark cloud hovering above him, a light at the end of a long dark tunnel, a bird who had lost its will to fly. He awoke himself after awhile, his heart pounding in his carcass. While not young, he had always been the egotistical carefree type, and it was unlike him to be this way. He longed for conversational comfort and snorted in frustration at the dark mood that had settled over him.
