Ascella
Daughter of the stars
Daughter of the stars
The ashen vixen walked through the land with her tiara hanging low to the earth. She sighed and flicked her silvery banner causing several flakes of ivory snow to fall to the earth below. At least the cold season would be drawing to an end fairly soon. It wasn't that she hated the cold, she just preferred it to be a tad bit warmer. This winter hadn't been as bad as the last four had. This year it had been fairly warm, and the blizzard numbers were down, which was always a thing to celebrate.
The fae snorted when a gust of cold wind blew and tousled her banners. She bobbed her large crown, heightening it a bit more so she could see around the snow that was being blown near the ground. Her large chocolate orbs glanced around the snow-covered scenery hoping to catch a glimpse of another wandering soul like herself. Ascella didn't know how long it had been since she'd seen another equine, much less of her own breed. She would converse with all the other breeds and that were impure of blood, but she couldn't imagine living with another breed except for that of her own, the Andalusian.
She figured that that was why she was on her own all the time. She rarely, if ever, came across her own breed. The last 'herd' she had been living in consisted of two other mares and a younger stallion. The stallion that led them didn't even have a land of his own, so they were a nomadic herd. A couple months ago, the stallion had been killed by a pack of wolves, and his mate, Chaira, had been killed along side him. That left just Ascella and the other mare, Mae. Eventually Mae got fed up with being in a group of two and left, to join a herd of mixed blood. Thats when Ascella lost interest in even trying to get her to come back and travel with her.
Ascella sighed, recalling her own memories. She knew that in time, she would find others of her own kind once again and would be able to live with some degree of happiness. Until that day came, she would wander all by herself, alone.
